I first saw this book listed on my Amazon recommendation page, and when I went to check it out and look at the reviews, saw it was just released, with no reviews! It was just delivered and as I started perusing the pages, chapters, and photos, there is a wealth of information on the various hummingbirds in the US and North America, as well as information about hummingbird feeders, flowers that attract, and other tips for your own garden. I was thrilled to see the author is in my own home state of Oregon, as I do take a lot of hummingbird photos myself. There are so many beautiful photos of all the different hummingbirds, plus a wealth of information and knowledge. The author, John Shewey, did a tremendous job in assembling and writing this book, that every hummingbird lover will enjoy and read, and reread. Highly recommend this book!!! Just got this book recently and can’t put it down. I highly recommend it. Well written and informative. We have a couple of humming birds in our back yard and I’ve always been curious about their behavior, this book has all the info I needed and more. Kudos to John Shewey for providing a depth of knowledge on these wonderful birds while keeping the content approachable. I noticed he has a series of books on the outdoors that will surely be on my wish list.
